AI Developer(m/w/d) - Mannheim

Your responsibilities

• Speech-to-text & modelling: Developing and continuously improving solutions for automatic meeting transcription based on modern speech-to-text models (e.g. Whisper) – from recording and transcription to post-processing.‍
• Pipelines & industrialisation: Design, implementation and optimisation of robust end-to-end pipelines for our AI assistant – including data pre-processing, model invocation, evaluation and transfer of results to downstream systems.‍
• Research & experiments: Conducting research on current approaches, tools and best practices in the field of speech-to-text and conversational AI. Setting up test cases and experiments (especially with Python) to systematically evaluate different models, parameters and architectures.‍
• Azure & cloud integration: Using Azure services to scale, automate and orchestrate your pipelines. Deploying relevant components to make our solutions performant, stable and reliable.‍
• AI ecosystem (Hugging Face & Co.): Use platforms such as Hugging Face to identify, integrate and adapt suitable models and libraries to our requirements.‍
• Close collaboration with sales: Translate feedback from sales and our customers into specific technical requirements, experiments and features for our AI assistant.‍
• Prototyping to product maturity: Developing prototypes, quickly testing new ideas and then transferring them into production-ready, maintainable solutions – always with an eye on scalability and practical applicability.‍
• (Optional) Flutter & front ends: Using Flutter (as well as JavaScript/TypeScript and React) for internal tools, prototypes or interfaces that can be used to demonstrate and test our AI functionalities.

Your profile

• Education: You have successfully completed a degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc.) with a focus on (business) informatics, data science or a comparable qualification.
• ‍Experience: You have several years of experience in developing AI/ML solutions or data-driven applications – ideally with a focus on speech-to-text, NLP or similar topics. You are proficient in Python and equally comfortable with JavaScript, TypeScript and React. You are familiar with cloud environments such as Azure, and terms such as Whisper or Hugging Face are not buzzwords to you, but tools from your everyday life. Bonus points for practical experience with Flutter.‍
• Personality: Do you love structures and enjoy programming in your free time? Do you enjoy the creative process and like to look back on what you have created yourself? Do you like to find new ways of doing things and try out new ideas right away? Then this job is for you!‍
• Enthusiasm: You want to take on responsibility. You enjoy working independently as a specialised AI expert, are responsible for ‘your’ topic of meeting transcription and, in close cooperation with our sales department, ensure that customer feedback is directly incorporated into our AI assistant.‍
• Communication: Your profile is rounded off by very good written and spoken German skills.
